Samsung Galaxy Book, Galaxy Tab S3 tablets unveiled!

Samsung just took the wraps off of two of its brand new tablets during its Mobile World Press conference in Barcelona, including the Galaxy Book and the Galaxy Tab S3. While two tablets were unveiled, they’ll be available in a few different sizes and flavors allowing Samsung to offer something for everyone.

The Galaxy Tab S3 (below) will be available with a 9.7-inch screen size while the Galaxy Book (above) will ship in 10.5-inch and 12-inch sizes. There’s a huge difference between the Tab S3 and the Book, however. The Galaxy Tab S3 is powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor and will run Android Nougat. The Galaxy Book tablets will run on Core m3 and Core i5 processors (10.5-inch and 12-inch, respectively) and will ship with Windows 10.

The Galaxy Tab S3 sports a 9.7-inch 2048 x 1536-pixel Super AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage (expandable up to 256GB), support for the Vulcan API for advanced gaming, HDR video playback support, support for Samsung’s S Pen, a 13MP camera and a 5MP front-facing camera.

The Galaxy Book ships with either a 10.6-inch 1920 x 1280-pixel display and an Intel Core m3 processor, or a 12-inch 2160 x 1440-pixel display with the aforementioned Intel Core i5 chip. The smaller Galaxy Book has either 64GB or 128GB of storage and 4GB of RAM while the larger version will ship with either 128GB of storage and 4GB of RAM or 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM (with support for microSD cards in both.)

I think folks who want to have a “full computer” on the go are going to want to lean towards the Galaxy Book. The Galaxy Tab S3 is probably going to be the top choice for folks who want Android apps, games, movies and the like, but who might not need to sit down and run programs that are otherwise only available to Windows 10 machines.

Samsung hasn’t yet said when the products will ship or how much they’ll cost.
