The Nintendo Switch Lite comes in some spectacular colors

Nintendo on Wednesday took the wraps off the Nintendo Switch Lite, a brand new console designed exclusively for handheld mode. While the new console is smaller, it comes in a variety of colors, including yellow, grey, and turquoise. Every new color looks awesome, but which one should you buy?

Yellow

Staff pick

The Nintendo Switch Lite in yellow is the most striking option, mainly because of how different it is compared to the original Switch. It’s bright, fun, and happy, which is the perfect way to describe Nintendo as a company.

Turquoise

Nintendo Switch Lite

A close second behind the Nintendo Switch Lite in yellow, the turquoise option contrasts nicely with the original Switch’s drab black. It brings a nice pop to the Switch line and also conjures images of springtime, where flowers and blooming and colors are vibrant.

Grey

The Nintendo Switch Lite in grey doesn’t stray too far from the original, making it a disappointing addition to the lineup. Why not introduce a burnt orange or a fiery red instead? At least Nintendo Switch Lite in grey will match your existing tech gear.

Special edition

Nintendo Switch Lite Zacian and Zamazenta Edition

If you’re a big Pokémon fan, then you’ll dig the Nintendo Switch Lite Zacian and Zamazenta Edition. The console features cyan and magenta buttons and illustrations from two new Legendary Pokeémon, Zacian and Zamazenta. This version of the Nintendo Switch Lite will be available November 8, 2019.

Nintendo Switch Lite in yellow

I didn’t know I wanted a Nintendo Switch in yellow until I saw the new Nintendo Switch Lite. The newest addition brings a fun and inviting vibrancy to Nintendo’s new portable console, and it makes me wants to pick it up and start playing. Tech gear and consoles traditionally come in drab colors, which is why the Nintendo Switch Lite in yellow is so refreshing.

The Nintendo Switch Lite in yellow is bright, vibrant, and plenty of fun. It’s the best color we’ve seen on a Nintendo console.

Nintendo Switch Lite in turquoise

The Nintendo Switch Lite in turquoise isn’t far behind the console in yellow. There’s a “wow” factor that comes along with such a bold, vibrant color. When you see one of these out in public, you won’t be able to take your eyes off it. I almost wish Nintendo would have created a blend of the turquoise and yellow so I could enjoy both colors.

Turquoise isn’t a bad choice if you don’t like the warmer, more inviting yellow. The turquoise shade reminds me of springtime and hanging out by a calm stream.

Nintendo Switch Lite in grey

I don’t understand why Nintendo wouldn’t take the opportunity to introduce a third bright color. Instead, the Nintendo Switch Lite in grey looks very similar to the original Switch, making it the most boring option. It’s not the worst looking color in the world, but we would have preferred if Nintendo introduced something brighter and more fun.

The Nintendo Switch Lite in grey isn’t as exciting as the other two options. It looks nice, but too close to the original Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo Switch Lite Zacian and Zamazenta Edition

With cyan and magenta buttons and intricate illustrations, the Nintendo Switch Lite Zacian and Zamazenta Edition is the most detailed and coveted of the bunch. If you’re a diehard Pokémon fan, then you’ll love the level of detail put into this special edition console. Which, by the way, doesn’t launch until November.
